Razed Roof - InForm 2020

Razed Roof is an inclusive performing arts company for people with, and without, learning difficulties and disabilities.

We believe that the performing arts provide opportunities to improve the quality of life for everyone involved.

‘InForm 2020’

Our production ‘InForm 2020’ is based on stories about the history and development of Harlow New Town, with scenes linked to Harlow’s iconic civic sculptures. It celebrates Harlow’s status as ‘Sculpture Town’.

"National Treasure? That's our Razed Roof." (Harlow Star)

Razed Roof is a resident company at Harlow Playhouse and we are proud that this inclusive performance company has been honoured with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services for their highly-acclaimed work. (Harlow Playhouse)

“A terrific production. Truly heart-warming and life-affirming.” Audience feedback

Razed Roof is based at Harlow Playhouse where an inclusive company of up to forty participants work together every Thursday with the support of an experienced team of staff. The company is made up of adults with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities; elders; and young people from mainstream education.

The company provides theatre skills training and opportunities for performing publicly.  Building social skills and confidence is an integral part of the work, along with promoting inclusion.

The choice of performance is guided by its use of imagery and the potential for movement work. Any script is adapted so that it can be told through words, music and dance, allowing full participation from each individual.
